To outsiders, Bevon may appear to project an aura of “definiteness”, of self-confidence. This self-confidence, sometimes mistaken for simple arrogance by the less decisive, is actually of a very specific rather than a general nature; its source lies in the specialized knowledge systems that Bevon started building at an early age. When it comes to areas of expertise, Bevon has several — he will be able to tell you almost immediately whether or not he can help you, and if so, how. Bevon knows what he knows, and perhaps still more importantly, he knows what you don’t know.

Bevon is a perfectionist, with a seemingly endless capacity for improving upon anything that takes his interest. What prevents him from becoming chronically bogged down in this pursuit of perfection is the pragmatism so characteristic of his type: he applies the criterion “Does it work?” to everything from his own research efforts to the prevailing social norms. This in turn produces an unusual independence of mind, freeing Bevon from the constraints of authority, convention, or sentiment for his own sake.

Bevon does not readily grasp the social rituals; for instance, he tends to have little patience and less understanding of such things as small talk and flirtation. Bevon is an extremely private person, and can be naturally impassive as well, which makes him easy to misread and misunderstand.
